Launching Our New WordPress Login Plugins
After our rebrand, I decided on want to start sharing some tools I use for site development. Every once in a while I’ll need some small, niche tool that isn’t available in the WordPress Repository, or we can’t find it on Github. I end up building a smaller version locally to complete the task. A few are more elaborate, others are smaller. I’m slowly rolling them out.
Soooo…. What what! Pumped to announce Really Simple Plugins for WordPress: currently offering Really Simple Login Logo and Really Simple Login Screen. These tools have solved one of the frequent requests we get while working with graphic designers and marketing agencies… “Can we change the WordPress login screen to our logo?”
Hold up, aren’t there plugins that customize the login screen already?
Yes and no. There are free plugins that let you change the logo, but it mainly requires knowledge of FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or understanding your hosting’s file system structure. If the logo needed to be changed, only people who understood that structure or had access could change it. On top of that, you would have to follow image guidelines or naming conventions or some laundry list of dos and don’ts set by the dev. And you’re dealing with a bunch of extra features that you don’t need or have to sift through. Not exactly user-friendly for agencies juggling multiple clients or business owners who just want things to work.
The alternative? Freemium or paid plugins that constantly nag with upsell banners and push notifications for their other products. Or again, bloated features beyond just simple customization. Nobody has time for that nonsense.
Just a simple solution for a simple task…
I decided to build something a little better, well actually, two somethings. One completely free and minimal, and one reasonably priced; both focused on getting the job done without the bloat or technical hurdles.
Really Simple Login Logo (Free)
This plugin does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s completely free, hosted in the WordPress plugin directory, and represents the easiest way to swap out that standard WordPress logo for something that actually represents your brand.
No upselling banners cluttering your dashboard. No pushy “unlock premium features” notifications. It’s a one-trick pony that does its job exceptionally well. You can download it from the WordPress Plugin Directory right now. If you love it, we’d appreciate a review! It’s slowly growing in use and popularity, and we’re excited to share it.
Really Simple Login Screen (Premium)
This is the more extensive version for clients, agencies, web designers, who want customization control but without a full login page or template build.
Despite offering significantly more features, it maintains the same simple, intuitive interface.
Customize background colors, form styling, input fields, logos, and more—all straightforward. But here’s our favorite feature: the Import/Export functionality.
Building multiple websites? Export your branding settings from the tools tab and save the configuration file. When you’re ready to deploy a new site, simply install the plugin, activate it, and import your saved settings. Your branding options apply instantly to your project.
You can purchase Really Simple Login Screen here, and it’s priced fairly for the time it’ll save you.
Excited about these Really Simple Login Plugins for WordPress and happy to share!
tl;dr We built two Really Simple Login Plugins for WordPress to solve the annoying problem of customizing login screens.
